College is an amazing time in our lives: It is a time to see the wonders of the world around us, discover who we truly are within us, and experience more people and things than the CDC would normally recommend.

Unfortunately, those days have been gone for several years now. Poof. Kaput. Sure, we’ve got the awesome memories and regrettable photos, but one cannot subsist alone on fond memories. Now that we have moved on into the real world, we are expected to seek out gainful employment. We must be able to support ourselves, and pay our own bills. And what about marriage? Kids? 401k plan? What happened to all that fun we used to have? What happens after college?

Well I’m here to say that life doesn’t end at 22. Got a job? You’ve got money. Got a car? You can go somewhere. Significant other? Partner in crime! There’s no time like the present, and there’s no present quite like this time. If you’re worried about getting older, just remind yourself how far you’ve come and how damn long it took. Are you 25 and worried about being 30? 35 worried about 40? Think about where you were 5 years ago versus where you are now, and you’ll get a good gauge of how much you have to look forward to in the next five.

And hey, if you’re looking for a little of that old college spark again, just remember that all those memories you’ve got were because you made them happen. All you need are a handfull of friends and a reason.
